In solidarity with thousands of other activists we decided to hold our own local march for the COP26 Global day of Action for climate justice. We believe that action can be taken at the grass roots level and is instantaneous. We litter picked en route and finished by installing our second food surplus box at Lawns End
Our first Repair Cafe was in the Autumn 2019 and our second in February 2020. Both events were very successful but we can improve. Our repair rate was about 50-60% so not bad ! Clothing, electrical, woodwork, clocks, jewellery can all be kept out of landfill, by being mended and going on to be loved once again.
In 2019 Our Bishop-Eco Baggers turned waste curtain and duvet fabric into tote-bags using the Morsbag design The fabric bags were available at the village shop 'Supply Stores' to turn away from using single use plastic bags. For more info contact : Hilary 01626 772482
We support our local businesses who make efforts to 'go green'. The previous owner , Nikki Tallentire, of Supply Stores was very supportive of us and we were greatly saddened when she passed away recently. Nikki was our first Plastic Free Bishopsteignton business champion and she very kindly hosted our display and
