Happy New Year !
Ooops , we have forgotten to update the website for a while. A little disappointed by lack of interest in the apple pressing, but delighted by our apple juice regardless, we have saved our efforts for 2024. Carrying on with the theme of our natural local bounty, we held a Wassail on twelfth night... not the first for the village, but the first for Sustainable Bishop. Quirky and rustic fun celebrating and blessing the trees with good health for the year ahead. On the same gorgeous cold dry January day, we organised some Christmas tree recycling and 12th night drinkies on the Community Allotment plot.
So - heads up, we're looking forward to keeping on the pressure for a cleaner, greener and sustainable future.
In summary, we are concerned about climate change and ecological crisis. We try to raise awareness and do something about it . From community gardening to clothes swaps, surplus food boxes to energy info, mass plastic unwrap to planting trees, we enjoy making a difference in lots of ways.

The Lawns,
Come along and count some wildlife
The Lawns,
Looking back
Each stripe represents the average temperature for a single year, relative to the average temperature over the period as a whole. Shades of blue indicate cooler-than-average years, while red shows years that were hotter than average. The stark band of deep red stripes on the right-hand side of the graphic show the rapid heating of our planet in recent decades.

Looking back at 2021, we made the most of a challenging year. This is a fun video of all the events and fun we had - hopefully inspiring us all to do more in 2022
